CEO PAY - THE SMOKING GUN

Whenever I get complacent about corporate governance or whenever people stand up and say how wonderful things are now, I have a reality check.

The reality check in the United States is the level of CEO pay.

Anybody considering what CEOs pay themselves today is confronted with the reality that at no time in history, in no other profession has a cadre of individuals rewarded themselves so handsomely for what they do.

I think that in the future, historians will look back on this period of time and they will say this was a time when there was great corporate power, maybe too much corporate power and the smoking gun was CEO pay.

Why didn't you do something about it?
