TEMPLE-INLAND - STILL A GAME IN PLAY
 

Temple Inland is still a game in play.

Here is a situation where a corporate management insists on being in two utterly unrelated businesses - forestry products and banking.

Their valuation in the stock market is lower than any bank and lower than any forest products company.

The two companies should be broken up.

And yet the management year after year refuses to do this.

We took out an ad in the Wall Street Journal showing that banks don't grow on trees.

We will escalate the level of our monitoring concerns and hopefully we will ultimately be able to liberate values to investors.
