Abstract:
The overwhelming size and increasing political clout of today’s
corporations have added to the downfall of shareholder responsibility.
In this review of “The New Global Investors,” the question is asked;
If CEO’s are doing less for the actual shareholders, why are their
paychecks getting larger? Monks grants the power of change with the
largest group of stockholders in the world, pension fund participants.
The case is made for corporate accountability in a book that asks
shareholders to shoulder the responsibility of changing the world of
business.
